Well you can defend on two ways other than S/T:
The first is when the opponent changes the atmosphere, when they do that you can mess with the atmosphere with a suitable technique like Tornado wall. The tornados will mess with the atmosphere and prevent the usage of Kirin unless the atmosphere is changed again.

All Chidori nagashi does to Swamp of the Underworld is remove the infused chakra, this would leave all the mud. If you are trapped inside of the Swamp, I think your best bet would be a Long ranged earth technique to push you out of the mud.

Can a custom weapon, also be an armor?

Yes it can still be armor. It can be anything from a weapon, armor and even an instrument(I have one but need sound release to post it). Most weapons now are swords so go beyond swords and the only CW that is armor that I seen approved is Zero Kelvin which is like a living armor which is pretty cool. So yes armor can be a CW.

If you nullify the bullets, there's no water for the dragon to be made; simple as that. However, a B-rank fire technique will never counter an A-rank water.

Well it depends on the density of the fire and lightning but most likely they would just collide and most of the time pass through each other. If the density is enough to post against each other, I say the lightning would win forcing the fire back since lightning is way faster then fire so the lightning would win against it.

I believe that once you get the sharingan awakened, you don't have to do it again. It's like learning jutsu. If you master water and make a new bio, you still have water mastered. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.
