Kakashi would win. He can use Mangekyo Sharingan, Kamui, Chidori and he can copy ninja jutsu's, he managed to send the Susanoo bow into another dimension (which was nearly impossible to escape from it).

but the more you think about it the closer it actually gets. gai is extremely powerful, he might even be stronger than kakashi if he used all of his gates.
i mean gai did defeat kisame quite easily and kisame managed to beat hachibi quite easily.

i mean kakashi's sharingan is quite useless if your body cannot keep up as rock lee had shown us.
i think kakashi's only hope is kamui. so it all depends on that really.
mind you kakashi himself is very very fast so it is a very close fight.
also kakashi is very smart and can come up with answers to gai's speed and power.

Transitive inference fails all the time. Just because Gai beat Kisame, doesn't mean he could beat Killer Bee. Look at the Gai vs. Kisame fight, he won because it was the worst possible matchup for Kisame. People often make this specious argument.

Kakashi is incredibly versatile, deceptive, and excellent at analysis, when coupled with his Sharingan and vast jutsu set, he can come up with a counter to just about any fighter. Gai is not a dynamic fighter, nor is he able to disguise his attacks, which makes countering him much easier.

Gai wins if it ends in rock-paper-scissors or doing the most pushups. Gai is powerful, yes, but he is not as strong as Kakashi, we've been through this in threads after Gai defeated Kisame. Nonetheless, people are entitled to their opinion, as versus threads are opinions, there is no true right or wrong answer, so while I disagree, I don't claim that it's wrong per se to think Gai would win.

Gai vs Kakashi would be like all the other fights where 1 on 1 and they both are almost equal and have a good idea of each others techniques. I would say that this one would be a draw in my mind. I can't decide.

gai you stupid kakashi fans, just because he has sharingan and kamui, it doesn´t mean that he can beat gai, + gai knows most likely some ninjutsu too (maybe even genjutsu) but he´s not using it, + he is too fast for kakashi and he knows how to fight sharingan + afternoon tiger is too much for kakashi to handle, (waits for someone to say that he can use kamui at it)

my votes on Gai way faster and physically stronger kakashi would be smarter and have my jutsu but gai isnt as dumb as people seem to think hes actually very fast thinking and can use ninjutsu just chooses not to coz he likes hand to hand whenever gai opens the gates nobody can stop him (from what we have seen so far) but from what ive seen in the series kakashi constantly has some epic plan to kick ass im leaning towards Gai but i say draw
