Kisame Hoshigaki (干柿鬼鮫) aka the Monster of the Hidden Mist (霧隠れの怪人) or The Tailed Beast Without a Tail, was an S-rank missing-nin from Kirigakure's Seven Ninja Swordsmen of the Mist. Before becoming known as a member of the Seven Ninja Swordsmen of the Mist, an ever-changing group of ninja that wield particularly large weapons in battle, Kisame was assigned to the Cypher Division by his superior, Fuguki Suikazan to guard them. He later killed his master when he realised that he was selling information as well, taking control of Samehada for himself and also replacing him as one of the Seven Swordsmen. "Madara Uchiha" then revealed himself as the one controlling Yagura, the 4th Mizukage, from the shadows, intimating to Kisame his Eye of the Moon Plan. Kisame was at first sceptical of Madara's identity and thought his plan was insane, but Kisame realised he wanted to experience this "world of truth", paving his way into becoming one of the first and most loyal members of Akatsuki. Pain stated that his reason for joining Akatsuki was "spite". His former country, the Land of Water, sought him out for plotting to overthrow its government and being involved in numerous assassinations, including that of a daimyo of an unknown country. As a member of Akatsuki, he was partnered with Itachi Uchiha. Though they initially greeted each other with hostility, they became good partners and shared a common bond of having betrayed the people closest to them.

Abilities

Kisame was a powerful member of Akatsuki who successfully captured the Four-Tails' jinchuuriki, Roshi, by himself, despite noting his target's exceptional powers. Though a difficult task, by his own admission, Kisame merely complained that he was "a bit tired". He also claimed that he was the best in the Akatsuki at capturing targets alive as seen when he was able to capture Roshi alive leaving him only "on the brink of death". As a member of the Seven Ninja Swordsmen of the Mist, Kisame is one of the most powerful shinobi ever produced within Kirigakure; in fact, he was able to kill his former master, who was said to be a Seven Swordsmen member of the generation that was the strongest within the village's history, as well as despite Samehada being in the superior's hands at the time. Nagato also noted he had an unusually large amount of chakra, even by Akatsuki standards. Kisame has also shown a keen intellect in battle, an example of which is deducing the nature and tactics of Killer B's attack on their first encounter. At one point, Guy battled a clone of Kisame's with 30% chakra-supply, and Guy was forced to open his Sixth Chakra Gate in order to prevail. Choujuro noted that Kisame is a special case, whose unique abilities put him at the same level as a jinchuriki, and must not be taken lightly. Outside having an enormous amount of chakra and his kenjutsu abilities, he was also specialized in water element jutsu's, which he clearly demonstrated by covering the entire field with a large volume of water in his fight with Guy while having no original water source nearby.

Samehada

Kisame is a sword-user, and savors the uses of brute strength over any technique. Kisame's signature weapon is called Samehada (鮫肌; Literally meaning "Shark Skin"), a sentient, scale-covered sword, that shaves flesh instead of cutting it. Samehada is also capable of detecting and absorbing chakra. Only Kisame was able to wield Samehada till he met Killer Bee. If anyone besides him tried to pick it up, spikes protruded from its handle, and it returned to Kisame's side. Kisame can also heal and replenish his chakra by taking some of Samehada's chakra by momentarily fusing with, or fuse all the way to further increasing his power and also his shark like appearance.

Restrictions:

• You must be at least of kage rank in order to create a Kisame bio, since Kisame is considered a Bijuu without a tail.
• You must have been a member for at least 6 months.
• The member must then take a test given by Nexus. If failed, the member has to wait for a month to retake the test.
• Transformation restriction is only useable with kisame.

Description: Whenever the user is injured or exhausted, Samehada can restore the user to his maximum physical and chakra capacities by inserting chakra of its own into the user via its hilt. This skill of Samehada is so powerful it can even bring people that are mortally wounded and on the brink of death back to full health. During Kisame's fight with Bee, his entire chest area got destroyed, but Samehada healed him completely in a matter of seconds. When Bee had no chakra left after his battle with Kisame, Samehada gave him enough chakra to go into Version 1 and after Kisame was discovered by Naruto, Samehada replenished him completely even though he was weakened and only skin and bones after having nothing to eat for several weeks.

Note: It doesn't require any activiation of the user, Samehada itself does it of its "own accord" and thus doesn't count towards the three jutsu's, however the user can't use any jutsu while Samehada is doing it.

Description: Samehada is truly a massive glutton who can eat large amounts of chakra in an instant. As a result it can devour entire jutsu's. Even in the case the jutsu is extremely wide, Samehada can absorb enough to keep the user safe. This was shown when Bee swung the sword vertically, cutting Itachi's fireball in half by eating the center part of the jutsu and letting the rest of the jutsu go past Bee on the left and right. The absorbing also happens very fast as Samehada was able to absorb several of Bee's attacks completely just before they would hit Kisame.

(Samehada Fuka Yuukai no Jutsu) - Samehada Shark Fusion Technique

Description: This Technique allows kisame to fuse with his sword Samehada completely. This causes him to become much more shark-like in appearance, growing fins and webbed hands that allow him to move through water with considerable ease and speed. Kisame also receives some of Samehada's abilities while in this form, such as being able to extend spikes from his body for offense and absorbing chakra when others come into direct contact with him. Also when fused with Samehada it allows him to restore any damage that he may have received by using the chakra within samehada as a medium. The Transformation gives the user additional power of +15 to their water based techniques and physical techniques. Whilst in this mode the user is also capable of sensing chakra under water.
Note: Can only Transform while being in a body of water.
