Time comes for the "That Jutsu"

Naruto is going to battlefiled the first time after he gained control of the kyubi's chakra.I think we may see the that justu on the battlefield.Jiriaya and toad said that to perform the that jutsu naruto must learn how the control kyubi's chakra, now he can use it.What do you think?

This is the theory some dude wrote 3 years ago and it's very solid.Enjoy!
Okay since alot of people asked in the 418 chapter discussion thread, I'll reveal what I believe "That Jutsu" is. Mind you this is purely theory based on my knowledge of how Kishimoto uses and interprets myths and legends.

First things first, you have to understand a few things before I can fully explain my theory. You need to realize that the names of jutsu, characters and different symbols are directly tied to different legends and myths by Kishimoto-sensei. Kishimoto-sensei also originally intended for Naruto to be the sole main character, however one of his editors suggested that Kishimoto give Naruto a rival, this is how and why Sasuke was created. It is my belief that Kishimoto split the original attributes he was going to give Naruto and divided them between him and Sasuke. So, singular thunder myth, became the Raijin and Fuujin myth. They still however accomplished the same goals. Also, the Fourth Hokage Minato Namikaze was also attributed with thunder god qualities.

With that stated we can move on to the actual theory:

I believe Naruto's "That Jutsu" will be one of two things. Either the VAJRA or the summoning of the Hindu God INDRA. I base this belief on how the mythology behind Indra and the Vajra fit into Kishimoto's style along with a few other things that I will explain. Although, please note that Kishimoto is most likely to use the Japanese Buddhism adaptations of Indra and the Vajra.

I've stated this before, but I'll state it again for those that missed it. Naruto's "That Jutsu" is not Fuuton: Rasenshuriken, nor is it Hiraishin no jutsu. Naruto's "That Jutsu" is a completely new technique that Minato Namikaze himself designed and left behind to his son to use for a future threat. Part of the reason Minato sealed the Kyuubi's yang chakra into his own son was, so that his son would have the power needed to perform "That Jutsu". The jutsu requires a tremendous amount of chakra, and the only source that Minato could think of to help power it was the Kyuubi's chakra.

The "that jutsu" that Jiraiya mentions here, is the same as the one he mentions here, which is also the jutsu that Naruto himself is practicing here.

From the above link about the Vajra:

"Vajra is a Sanskrit word meaning both thunderbolt and diamond. As a material device, the vajra is a short metal weapon that has the symbolic nature of a diamond (it can cut any substance but not be cut itself) and that of the thunderbolt (irresistible force). The vajra is believed to represent firmness of spirit and spiritual power. It is a ritual tool or spiritual implement which is symbolically used by Buddhism, Jainism and Hinduism. Because of its symbolic importance, the vajra spread along with Indian religion and culture to other parts of Asia. It was used as both a weapon and a symbol in India, Nepal, Tibet, Bhutan, Siam, Cambodia, Myanmar, China, Korea and Japan.

The equivalent word in Tibetan is dorje (Wylie: rdo-rje; ZWPY: dojê), which is also a common male name in Tibet and Bhutan. Dorje can also refer to a small sceptre held in the right hand by Tibetan lamas during religious ceremonies."

"In Hindu mythology, Vajra is the weapon of Indra, the Vedic god of rain, lightning and the sky and king of Devas. It is a powerful weapon having the combined features of sword, mace, and spear."

"In Buddhism the vajra is the symbol of Vajrayana, one of the three major branches of Buddhism. Vajrayana is translated as "Thunderbolt Way" or "Diamond Way" and can imply the thunderbolt experience of Buddhist enlightenment or bodhi and also implies indestructibility, just as diamonds are harder than other gemstones."

"The vajra is made up of several parts:

In the center is a sphere which represents Sunyata, the primordial nature of the universe, the underlying unity of all things.

Emerging from the sphere are two eight petalled lotus flowers. One represents the phenomenal world (or in Buddhist terms Samsara), the other represents the noumenal world (or Nirvana). This is one of the fundamental dichotomies which are perceived by the unenlightened.

Arranged equally around the mouth of the lotus are two, four, or eight mythical creatures which are called makaras. These are mythological half-fish, half-crocodile creatures made up of two or more animals, often representing the union of opposites, (or a harmonisation of qualities that transcend our usual experience).

From the mouths of the makaras come tongues which come together in a point.

The five pronged vajra (with four makaras, plus a central prong) is the most commonly seen vajra. There is an elaborate system of correspondences between the five elements of the noumenal side of the vajra, and the phenomenal side. One important correspondence is between the five "poisons" with the five wisdoms. The five poisons are the mental states that obscure the original purity of a being's mind, while the five wisdoms are the five most important aspects of the enlightened mind. Each of the five wisdoms is also associated with a Buddha figure. (see also Five Wisdom Buddhas)"

"Indra's most notable exploit was his battle with the asura Vritra. Vritra took the form of a mighty dragon, and had stolen all the water in the world for himself. No one could do anything about this until Indra was born. Upon hearing what had happened, Indra vowed to take back the life-giving liquid. He rode forth to meet him the terrible Vritra. He consumed great amounts of Soma to give him the strength needed to fight such a foe. Indra smashed through Vritra ninety-nine fortresses, and then came upon the dragon. The two clashed, and after a long battle Indra was able to destroy his powerful enemy. Vritra had been keeping the earth in a drought, but when Indra split open the demon, the waters again fell from the skies. So Indra became a hero to all people, and the gods elected him their king for his victory."

    link

Now that the mythology has been established I'll interpret for you. Indra was a thunder god, just like Raijin and Susano'O(although Susano'O is more of a god of storms). Only two individuals from the Naruto series have direct symbolic relationships to thunder gods. Sasuke Uchiha and Minato Namikaze.

Minato was known as "Konoha's Yellow Flash" and he also created the "Hiraishin no jutsu" or "Flying Thunder God Technique." It's was Minato that originally designed "That Jutsu". However, he was never able to complete that jutsu. He left that task for his son, Naruto. Naruto has now completed(at least close enough) "That Jutsu". It took Naruto becoming a Sage to complete the jutsu. Naruto had to achieve enlightenment in a since to wield "That Jutsu". Indra was also the "god of rain", Naruto's kekkei genkai that I've mentioned before, will give him control over the rain. Why you may ask, well Naruto is a symbolic dragon(So is Pain). They both have the power to control rain, which is the attribute of dragons. For more information on Naruto and his connection to dragons, follow this link.

"That Jutsu" is a combination of the efforts of father and son, it's purpose is most likely to defeat Pain, the other dragon that controls the water and rain. Pain is the symbolic Vritra. Now, I've presented alot of information, but alot of you I'm sure are still doubful about this being "That Jutsu", however Kishimoto-sensei has already left us a hint.

The clan symbol of the Senju Clan of the Forest was a Vajra view from the side.

    Naruto 398 page 17

Naruto's "That Jutsu" is a technique that either creates a Vajra or summons Indra himself to wield his "thunderbolt". That is at least the conclusion I've come to. There's still more, but I don't want to make this post longer than it needs to be. If there are any questions I can answer for you, feel free to ask, I'll do my best. Of course, I'm not an expert.

    And my conclusion

    http://www.narutobase.net/manga/Naruto/341/1
Fuujin and Raijin and Raijin is hold the vajra. Its very interesting really.
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Vajra.jpg
I think Naruto summon Fuuijn or Vajra and use aganist Sasuke's Susono. And also Susano one of the thunder gods.

Re: Time comes for the "That Jutsu"

Maybe, Madara does have a Weapon that sorta looks like the Uchiha clan emblem etc.

But what if "That Jutsu" is The Dead Demon seal .

looking at The dead demon seal
    http://naruto.wikia.com/wiki/Dead_Demon_Consuming_Seal

compare the 6 floating embers to Narutos' Rikudo Mode

What if Completing Dead Demon seal is that jutsu.

( Minato said something about Dead Demon seal not being used by jinks)

If Naruto could summon the dead demon seal and use it like Sasuke does with susanoo .

But that manga chap looked like Naruto was practicing Rasen Shuriken, ( is the image more clear in the anime ? )

How many That utsus will there be in Naruto

    1. Kabutos' That jutsu
    2. Narutos that jutsu
    3. The 6th coffin thing

Re: Time comes for the "That Jutsu"

There are some contradictions in the theory because as we know and as you also stated he needs the kiuby chakra, but you also say that he would need sage chara and that is not stated anywhere in the Manga, the theory says: "Naruto needed to become a sage..." and that is not a requirement, or at leas it hasn't been mentioned.
Also in one of the links with Naruto at the toad mountain practicing, he is training with Rasenshuriken.
Also it is kinda weird if that jutsu is a summoning, and we haven't seen any jutsu that creates something... well maybe except for the SO6P with his izanagi.
So i guess it is a nice theory but i doubt it will happen.

Re: Time comes for the "That Jutsu"

He was practicing the Rasenshuriken in the toad mountains. Remember how the toads were surprised that he "threw" his Rasengan at Pain after merging wind element with it?

The theory is solid, the legends behind the jutsus and the gods are interesting and well connected but some things seem a bit odd to me.

    1. Who will teach Naruto the technique? Jiraiya is dead. The only other person who knows is that one toad.
    2. Naruto doesn't have a bloodline limit. We don't know if Rinnegan is the Uzumaki KG. Pain couldn't control rain; he just made it stop raining with his gravitational ability, possibly a forcefield-like technique that uses gravity to repel everything, including rain in a specific area.
    3. I am assuming this theory was made prior to Pain's death. Even if it's not, it's still acceptable as a Edo Tensei Pain is still in the manga. However, he's not the bad guy.
    4. If Minato left it, Naruto has NOT learned it as of right now. He'll either need training from the scroll toad or he'll need to discover it on his own somehow.

Theory is plausible and the research is excellent but there are some holes.

I don't think it's Dead Demon Seal either, at least I hope not. That technique is good the way it is. No need to make it super OP like Edo Tensei.

Re: Time comes for the "That Jutsu"

The frogs didn't know about it... and it was proven in his fight with Pain, when he used it and threw it all were like WTF? But in that page he was most surely training to throw Rasenshuriken, if he wasn't then tell me when did Naruto learn it? he couldn't have done it right in the battle without any practice... and we have seen that the frogs had no idea at all.
And also i guess he didn't want the frogs to see that he was chopping off their mountains or whatever that was.

Because Tsunade warned him never to use it as it damages his hand just as much. He learns to throw the Rasenshuriken instead of running into his enemies with it. This was right after Kakuza's fight.

Rasenshuriken cuts through things... It's a shuriken after all .

The technique that Jiraiya talks about might be the new technique, but in the toad mountains, I really think its the rasenshuriken.

looking at that manga again, gives this guy some credibility for me at least. theres one random cloud above naruto, he says he thinks hes got it, then in the next frame hes dripping wet saying he needs to keep practicing it in sage mode.

i dont think he needed to become a sage to do it, seeing as how when jiraiyaa said not to use that jutsu he wasnt a sage. but hes probably practicing it in sage mode. I dont think it woulld be a summon, but maybe a susano'o type deal made up of rain or wind or something lol

The Mountains where cut clean, the dust is prolly from sand and wind.

Grab a clump of dirt and throw it, it wont just land clean some will make like a dust cloud etc.

Re: Time comes for the "That Jutsu"

or maybe...jiraiya said not to do it because it requires a large amount of chakra and naruto would go kyuubi crazy...so when he was in sage mode he had enough chakra to practice it without going all demon fox like...and maybe even then...the true potential of the jutsu can only be reached with the kyuubis full power/ cooperation

I think that the theory is plausible and is very possible. I mean how epic would it be for naruto and sasuke to have a giant primordial demon battle as their last fight! That would be EPIC mixed with PURE AWESOMENESS!!!

the episode is actually very clear. episode 156 about minute 16 or 17.

first u hear thunder then naruto says, "looks like i did it somehow" (a little different from the manga no?)
a cloud appears over him. he then says, "its still not perfect though"
"Ill keep practicing it in sage mode"

meaning it wasnt his rasenshuriken. my guess is that EVEN IN SAGE MODE he doesnt have enough CHAKRA to master that jutsu. but with kyuubi mode at 100% no doubt he should

I think jiraiya told him not to use it earlier because he didnt have enough chakra and would go all demon fox on everyone.

"That jutsu" is only the Kyuubi Mode, so I think he learned. Sometimes when they talk about "that jutsu" is more like "that power".

no i was wrong about that part. i do still think he will master a jutsu with the rain. but when he was in sage mode with the frogs he was practicing the rasenshuriken. But he was practising throwing it and making it expand. he threw it and made it expand for the first time when he fought pain. would account for the huge cuts in the mountainn

Jiraiya argued that Minato gave him the key's jutsu design as a sign that Minato had intended for Naruto to complete a unknown jutsu (that jutsu) which the key is at gerotora scroll and i think its a jutsu to help naruto take full controll of kyubi like killer bee !!

Re: Time comes for the "That Jutsu"

I honestly do not understand where people say that him going off is RS. if you recall, in the same manga, or the one before, the cheif toad says you heal a lot faster and barely take any damage in sage mode. What was the one reason why Naruto couldn't use RS? Because of the damage done to his arm during. I think Naruto will gain the rinnegan. I believe it is a mix of Senju DNA and Uchiha DNA. I think they both have reverse effects, if you are born with the Uchiha DNA, you gain Izanagi. With Danzo i believe the eyes were implanted first, but it was a watered down version, and there is no water down version of rinnegan. Any one can have Uchiha eyes implanted and use them. I believe if you are Senju or bloodline, if you get the DNA of an Uchiha, you gain the Rinnegan. Hence the gift Itachi gave Naruto. I think naruto will control the Gedo and fight Sasuke with it. I say all this because i believe that the Rinnegan may have something to do with "that jutsu"
