Who will die fighting Pain in Konoha?

I will say that Naruto's first sensei will die... Whats his name again? They brought him back earlier. Plus it would piss Naruto off pretty badly.

Not Iruka, he already almost died before Kakashi saved him.
I think Tsunade and a couple known shinobi (tenten and someone) will die.

no one will die, im pretty sure of that. naruto will come in time and "force" pein to retreat but not kill him yet. so pretty much he would defeat him but pein will live.

if anyone is going to die during peins invasion, it will probably be someone like shizune or mayyyybe possibly tsunade.

but i don't think anyone is gunna die.

lol, ya...but i think if either gai or lee need to die. its gunna be gai in my opinion.

I'm pretty sure that's not what he meant.

Naruto and Shikamaru were forced to grow up through realizations they made from the harsh pain of losing someone they loved.

For Lee, there is no need for that sort of pain. He has already been brought to that mindset. He was the first to grow up. When he made the decision to go through with the surgery after the chunin exams, he became an adult.

It would be extremely unrealistic if no one dies. I want the useless girls to die..........Ten ten, Ino, Tsunade......I guess Sakura is cool for killing the giant centipede.

Oh yea...and I want Danzou and the elders to die.

I think Tsunade will die in this battle. It's Sakura's turn to grow up. Besides, the Legendary 3 have come to an end.

I have a feeling she will be the only main character to die. We may see the deaths of a few minor characters, to keep things realistic, but don't expect much. The Pein's are not here to destroy the town (though they are doing a good job of it). They are here to seek out Naruto.

All true, but those are the blatantly obvious understanding of Kishi's words. Now, I don't think Kishi would be someone to spoil something such as Tsunade's death (Sakura needing to mature) or Gai's immunity (Lee not needing to mature) without planning a completely unexpected situation for these events so the suspense of certain fights aren't ruined. So..

Sakura could mature through Kakashi/Sasuke/Naruto's death(s) and Lee doesn't need to mature if he's a corpse. (which would be a great way for Kishi to introduce the final 8th Inner Gate of Death either by Rock Lee using it or Gai using it to avenge Lee)

I can agree, he has a lot to toy around with. But you know, just because it's blatantly obvious, doesn't mean he wont let it play out that way. Look at his writing style, the storyline so far, it all leads up to Tsunade's death. So even without those statements, it's obvious. So why should I be looking for a deeper meaning in his words? Maybe he meant exactly what he said.

... I don't think Ino pig is going anywhere. It's a possibility, but I don't think it's all that likely.

I think we're going to lose someone that will impact us on a deep level, but not significantly effect the story line. Such as Chouji, or maybe Sai. Though I wouldn't like to see either of them go. That's the point, of course. To take someone we will miss, but not be too seriously depressed about. Then again, I think if Sai died Kishi would be harassed by fangirls for the rest of his life. >.< so maybe it wil be Tenten? We don't really know her all that much, after all.

Maybe none of the chunin will die. Perhaps these deaths will be older adults, their parents are all likely victims. I hope they don't kill Shika's daddy. He's so awesome.

. How about Ino's dad? He's cool, but Ino needs a reality check anyway.
