People are forgetting a knucklehead like Raikage (A') was able to figure out Minato's weakness using Flying-Thunder God. With Itachi's base Sharingan he'll analyze Minato's moves and after you've found his technique, the fight becomes much easier for Itachi.

People are underestimating Susano'o, yet don't realise it's legendary items alone would defeat Itachi.

raikage was to fast for a sharingan to pick up. minato is faster then raikage, so do the math. Minato had high class fuinjutsu, and from the madara fight, minato had to go FTG level 2. now who knows how many levels FTG goes upto. Minato has alot more then we know, and we've seen all dat itachi has.

Um.....I'm not answering because I like both of them, and we didn't really get to see what both are truely capable of. I mean Itachi was sick so most of the time when he even fought he didn't give it his all, and then Minato died at the beginning of the story so we don't really have much to go on. Either way they're both awesome ninjas and a fight between them would be one like no other.

I think Itachi could beat Minato due to his Genjutsu knowledge.Even though Minato possesses great speed Itachi could capture him into his genjutsu within the blink of an eye.

Even with the speed Minato possesses he can't just dodge someones genjutsu,especially not Itachi's.So my opinion is Itachi :D

itachi is a very skilled ninja but so is minato no one would win easy
my guess it would go down to who lets their guard down first for a split second

both are very smart
Itachi is very skilled at using his sharingan and Ms and genjutsu
minato is very fast and can counter attack in an instant

but i think minato would win sorry itachi

Ok,Here's what I think.
They're both dead...so Amaterasu won't work on Minato and I think Itachi knows that too because of his Flashing God Jutsu Susano'o...Who said Minato was going to attack?
He's maybe going to wait until Itachi runs out of chakra or get sick.THEN he will attack?
Option2:Itachi uses Susano'o and Minato throws his teleportation kunais in of Susano'o or just put it everywhere and teleport to it and uppercut Itachi and rhape him TWICE in the speed of the flash :P

Nobody could say that minato or itachi will win this hands down. If itachi said him and jiraiya would be a stalemate, and jiraiya consideres minato to be equal or even better then himself. So bottom line minato gets caught in a genjutsu he loses, if he doesnt then minato has a solid chance to win

minato wins dis hands down. Yeh susano is pretty much the perfect defense. But!! itachi doesnt have ems. Itachi wuld be ripped apart the moment he lowers susano from the blindness in his eye. Minato is way to fast for amaterasu, nd fireball jutsus. Plus Im sure the fourth hokage is capable of breaking itachis genjutsus.

madara attack the leaf when the 4th was alive but he never did it again because of itachi
why was itaci a full stop for him and the 4th was'nt hummm my guess he is the only one who knows what itachi is trurly capable of.Kakashi said they have not seen half of what he could do,plus he all know itachi left the leaf and got some training from madara after he was already the best in the leaf at that time,so the half they have not seen about itachi u have to x/2.Itachi amataratsu is way faster than sasukes.Itachi is the best genjutsu user in the series. I see no reason why one of his genjutsu wold not finish the 4th.Any one who is vs itachi is already in a genjutsu which means u all done.
