doesent FTG move your chakra -> moving is some sort of disturbance -> doesent that cancle a Genjutsu?

Itachi would win, but Minato is also too powerful.. even Madara surprised of how strong he really is.. Itachi's chance of winning relies on Genjutsu's, don't tell me Amaterasu or even Susanoo please would work.. cause both of them won't even harm Minato, unless by chance.. Minato can dodge Amaterasu easily by using FTG, Susanoo is no use either.. cause the moment Itachi uses his Susanoo, Minato can teleport to some far away location and wait for Itachi to wear off then come back again to finish him off lol, so yea.. Itachi's chance is to have him trapped by Genjutsu, by either using a normal one or by using Tsukuyomi.. which is not hard to do for the master of all Genjusu's.

I dont think just any genjutsu would work on minato Tsukuyomi yes but a normal genjutsu is breakable (jiraiya taught naruto how to do it)

It would depend on who strikes first.
If Itachi were to use Genjutsu, or cover himself completely with Susano'o (Yata Mirror, etc included), then he would clearly have the advantage. That is, given he defeats Minato before his eyes deteriorate or his health weakens from Susano'o.
On the other hand, if Minato were to strike first and place a 'seal' on Itachi, then Minato would clearly be able to win. We don't even know the full extent of his abilities, so he might even be able to seal Dojutsu or the like.

Overall, it can't be said who would definately win because the battle could switch between the two.

I think Itachi could beat Minato due to his Genjutsu knowledge.Even though Minato possesses great speed Itachi could capture him into his genjutsu within the blink of an eye.

Even with the speed Minato possesses he can't just dodge someones genjutsu,especially not Itachi's.So my opinion is Itachi :D

Ok i haven't read the whole thread (all posts) but in my opinion:
This would be one of the greatest fights ever. And it is hard to tell who would win because of the lack of knowledge we have regarding both of them.
So Itachi would clearly win if he manages to catch Minato in a genjutsu, something i doubt he is capable of... even if he can cast a normal genjutsu just by pointing at you, for tsukuyomi he needs direct eye contact... something that is quite impossible to achieve if you're fighting the yellow flash.
Anaterasu would be useless because Minato can clearly dodge that.
And about Susanoo, well this is a problem because Itachi's susanoo was indeed the ultimate defense so Minato doesn't have any chance of harming Itachi... or does he? Well this depends on the way susanoo works... it acts as a shield around the user's body... but as you can see there is some space between the user and Susanoo and if Minato is able (we know he can, either by marking itachi, or putting a seal on the ground and luring itachi there) to teleport within that space then it is all over. But again i am not that sure about this one. But even so, Itachi can only sustain Susanoo for a couple of minutes max... and be sure that Minato can dodge his attacks.
So in the end it is hard to tell who would win... i will go with Minato but one wrong move and he is dead.

the truth this is more close then some fanboys would lead us to believe.We have seen neither of them at their peak but i think minato would have the edge in this fight. Itachi ultimate susano with the mirror is nearly invincible from all sides but itachi does not have unlimited chakra. Minato would outrun his amatesru his tsyukomi would be troublesome nt looking in his eyes but minato could handle it.it could go either way but minato would probably win.
