Which do you prefer and why?

For me personally Mac as it runs smoother and faster and is very simple.

WINDOWS (hell yeah), i don´t like Apple, meaning i don´t like mac :D + most will say windows as they got used to it

It was also given as it was popular and used in business, so its also more of apoint for Mac in a way as you can still use some windows apps, while on an OS you prefer.

Mac = No Viruses (Little loopholes and stuff that I do know about)

This is a little biased though as I'v never used Mac.

Mac is very much good for the beginner, as there is the dock which has mostly all your necessaries stuff in one place. Mac also has a good Welcome First Boot Up thing.. >.>

Windows = While Viruses and Trojans is an okay system operated properly but is a little bit complicated because most people will have no idea what to do on how to protect their computer from viruses. They will just set up an antivirus and think they are safe. I'v seen my parent's laptop get viruses a few times and I think it's because my parents aren't computer knowledged or know what to do.Windows also has more software and games. Even though I'm sure Mac can run Steam so a majority of games are available, there is still a major shortage of games/software for Mac.

So, Windows All the way.

But.. I would say dual boot Mac and Windows = Boot Camp = Super Computer. Or Windows = New Partition = Install Mac their somehow = Happy Computer

At college we was taught how to use mac for projects in photography manipulation for primary sources and it was relatively easy to use. Macs aren't that much different to windows however its much more comfortable to use windows as most people have used it for longer. Though you are right about the fact most people don't give the mac a chance, its just most people are scared of what they don't understand and instantly take a dislike to it.

Easy to use?
I had both windows and macs for many years and for my entire life of having both,and having to talk to computer specialists I never heard anyone call windows "easy to use" :/
Software
No offense,but having to install manually 3D software,media, antivireses and other shiz which all cost a hell of a lot of money aside from the OS itself(thats of course presuming that it didnt come with your laptop), all are a pain in the ass.
Vires
Oh my god how much of a pain in the ass this is.Macs dont have viruses,at least not killer ones.Windows on the other hand has a whole army of vireses which can attack you from any website at anytime.And of course you could say "get a good anti-virus", well no.Just like good anti-viruses, viruses themselves are constantly updated by idiots and new ones are created by even more idiots.So if I were to say, than 90% of the viruses still bypass even the best anti-viruses.

Windows- software is installed manually,menu/configuration is really hard to find for beginners, most software/games that are most useful are on windows,
Macs- software already comes with it INSTALLED, menu/configuration is easy to find, a lot of useful software/games are not on here

so overall,my vote goes to the macs all the way

All my life I been having Windows, and I never had a Mac, but I bet for the ones who where using a Mac for their life would prefer a Mac over Windows.

Of course everyone will vote for what they are using.
I have used Mac and Windows for the same amount of time.

Mac - The Clean Desktop is about the one thing that is better than Windows.
For a Gamer like me,Mac doesn't fit.
I used Mac to edit my AMVs and Montages.

Windows - Windows is not complicated at all,and it is updated with new features automatically at least once every month.
Viruses may be a problem,but if you are smart and you partition your data,and just Format a 13 GB part of the Hard Drive containing the OS,it will take about 5 minutes to Format and half an hour to install the OS.
While all that is being done,you can enjoy a movie or something,this is for all the people saying "Why Format when you can get Mac and not format at all?".
Well,Windows supports all Software,tall games,almost everything that comes out is for Windows.

Now,I want to make clear,the only reason I am not using Ubuntu,is because it doesn't have Game Support and doesn't support Photoshop.

i will support linux though
