About the rinnegans. I think he has them in his lab along with the sharingans. Remember he gave Nagato a pair and either he gave 6 more pairs to the Pain bodies or Nagato got the rest himself and Tobi just took them after Nagato died.

Nagato attained the rinnegan when he was a child while under the tutelage of Jiraiya. EVERY rinnegan user is able to access the 6 paths technique through whatever means (i think). Nagato chose corpses of shinobi that Jiraiya had encountered in his lifetime. He was able to use a technique that allowed the corpses to "share" his field of vision.

Tobi aka Madara only mentioned that he gave Nagato the rinnegan so no one would contest if he decided to kill him and take his eyes. Same bull story he used with his brother Izuna. He claimed his brother "gave" him his eyes but we all know he just yanked them out and used it for his own evil purpose.

Besides, the rinnegan is a very rare dojutsu. If there were more than one then the rinnegan wouldn't be so legendary would they? e.o

Yes it would be badass if Jiraiya came out of nowhere and helped Naruto but he would only be a hindrance & counterproductive to Naruto's progress. Memory of loved ones inspire humans to achieve greater heights of consciousness. Besides, Naruto doesn't need a babysitter anymore or a granpappy.

I loved this chapter very much for the fact that we were able to get some emotional closure to Gaara's story.

It's kinda strange the Kazekage (Gaara's dad) implied that he didn't trust Chiyo-sama. You'd think they would be on the same page.

We can assume, if any, that they will win this battle against the Kage's. The only question is how? And who will survive?

On the rinnegan, let me attempt to settle it. IMO, only the main user needs to have it. All the path members will automatically have it once the user has it. Confirm from the anime (pain vs naruto), even the summoned animals had it.

I think it is only reasonable for Kishi to allow Gaara defeat his dad. That way, his father will truly acknowledge his mistakes and not see Gaara as a menance. It follows the pattern - Sai & his brother, Shikamar et al & Asuma, Mifune & Hanzo, Darui & the Kyuubi brothers(I know Shiamaru's group helped but he got the secrets himself), Gaara's brother (forgotten his name) & Sasori . . . . . The list goes on.
Anything other than this won't be cool.
On Muu, like I said above, the new generation have surpassed him. Only that he doesn't know that yet. He will be defeated, maybe even easily.

Isn't Naruto like far away battle wise? I know he is fast but not THAT fast. Besides these are those little battles that Kishi likes to emphasize to show that we can overcome our difficulties and achieve much higher if there is a motivation to do so.

I've had my fill of Sasuke for now. SO no thanks. However interesting his situation may be, I think we need to show how the war is progressing on the side of the allies. But if I had to choose I would rather like an update on Madara than Sasuke. Besides, doesn't he need his rest? He just had eye surgery. D:

Yes its been established that Jiraiya is awesome but he has achieved his purpose in the story. He is one of those milestones than Naruto needed in his life. And now as dead he serves as a permanent reminder of how he is loved and with determination anything can be achieved.

I dont think sand is just Earth because Gaara's used wind style jutsus before i think its Earth and Wind which means it would be equal to lightning? It has lightnings weakness and strength mixed together.

I believe that recent chapters that are all talk and no combat are a necessary part of keeping the story flowing the way it's planned so I have no criticism, other than that the fights could last longer.

Reading some of you guys posts is worse than going to the dentist. so painful.
some of you i agree with tho.
i just want to list a couple things to get it off my chest.

1.) this episode had NO FLASHBACKS!!
flashbacks = being shown things that happened in the story weve already seen, and are being redisplayed for the purpose of helping us remember what weve already been shown.
unknown history = things that happened in the story that weve never witnessed and as the reader, we are shown for the first time, to help us better understand what we already know.
get your heads out of your butts and know the difference.
it bothers me more than you can possibly know to hear all you crybabies whining about flashbacks when they are not even actual flashbacks. if its an actual flashback then I will most likely be among the people saying that it was boring, I know the whole story front to back, and I dont need a reminder, but I ALWAYS enjoy seeing new history about the characters that ive never seen.

2.) jiraiya is not coming back. remember when he died, and naruto was jumping through trees in the forest and he stopped because he felt something? he felt jiraiya die, they were that close. equally what happened to tsunade, she was out on the pond and noticed something strange, and felt it too. he was happy to have died the way he did. his throat was crushed, he got stabbed multiple times, and he most likely wouldve drowned anyways from the looks of his departure. and he managed to escape kabutos horrible edo tensei by the way he died. way to go jiraiya! you friggin pimp! one of my favorite characters in the whole series, for sure. I love him just as much as the rest of you, but sadly he is gone, accept it.

3.) gaara is a badass. his hailstorm of sand was monstrous! i cant wait to see that in the anime! he had the edo raikage and the others scramblin'. LOL. He is who he is now because of Naruto, so all you clowns that love gaara, but trash naruto, need to get real. even gaara knows how awesome naruto is, so if you love gaara then you have to like what he likes, which is naruto. or at least respect that he took gaara, man to man back in the day, when even sasuke couldnt. i was very glad to see some more of his history. to know that his mother loved him, was great to hear, and to finally understand the sand protecting him, was epic. also good to see it from the kazekage's point of view. even though gaara was his own son, he treated him like he would have any other jinchuuriki.

4.) about gaara's dad. for one, he was not assassinated like a ***** by orochimaru. he was AMBUSHED by orochimaru, kimimaro, and kabuto while enroute to konoha for the chuunin exams. him and his two guardians were defeated. that does not make him a wuss. we know how powerful the 3 of them are, so kazekage, didnt really have much hope of survival. which also shows us where kabuto gained the kazekages dna. he was one of the 3 responsible for his death. it is also very interesting to learn of his gold jinton and how it was used to not only fund the economy of sand village, but also to stop the shukaku from destroying the village. i for one am very impressed and excited to see how his reunion with the new gaara ends. also if temari will play a major part in the battle, as it is her father as well.

5.) i am also curious as to how the edo kages will be defeated. we know gaara will take on his father. we know oonoki will try to defeat muu, and i believe he can, though it very well may cost him his life. however the raikage and the mizukage have not been matched up yet and im curious to see who will stand against them. I hope it is not naruto, he has larger concerns. such as madara and his jinchuuriki edo pains and sasuke with his new found ems, and kabutos endless army of edos.

6.)madaras new 6 pains have sharingan for one of 2 reasons, either he implanted them with some of the sharingans that he had been saving or they are all displaying sharingans for the same reason that they are displaying rinnengans, because he has it, and he is controlling them. like someone mentioned earlier, even nagatos summons had rinnengan eyes, just as all his pains did. even jiraiya was confounded by this because he didnt understand how more than one body could have the rinnengan. the fact is, they do NOT have the rinnengan, only the user does, (ie nagato or now madara). if madara had a bunch or rinnengans, why would he go desperately searching for nagatos body and risk his life fighting konan for them? that is the only set, and currently he is only usin one of the 2. he most likely is saving the other for either himself or someone else. i doubt he would give one to sasuke, though that would be interesting turn of events. sasuke wouldnt really know how to use it, as he has never had practice. but back to my original point, madara is controlling the edo jinchuuriki with his rinnengan, and most likely installed in each of them a sharingan from his stockpile. you might be asking yourself, why are they instantly ready to go, while sasuke has to have a bandage on his face for like 100 episodes? they are edo tensei and can instantly regenerate. whatever healing they would need after eye surgery would be almost instantaneous. the sharingan can control summons and tailed beasts as evidenced in the past, however the rinnengan is even more powerful and can control dead bodies, summons, and maybe more. you also may be asking yourself why he would bother to give each pain a sharingan? what do we know about the sharingan? it enchances almost every aspect of combat. evasiveness, sensory, power and a slew of other abilities. Each pain having a sharingan will just increase their effectiveness in battle. its something that nagato wouldnt have been able to do for many reasons, 2 being that he didnt have any sharingans available and not having one himself, he wouldnt know how to best make use of its power. madara on the other hand is prepared to cause cataclysmic damage to anyone he comes across. and for those of you that didnt notice, kishimoto wrote on the page with them displayed that madara was heading to HQ. which means that unless he is derailed from his path, he will be showing up on tsunade, raikage, and shikaku, and ino's daddy, and anyone else there such as raikage's secretary. I dont think that any of them stand a chance against madara and his 6 edo jinchuuriki paths of pain. damn kabuto for helping madara. as if it wasnt bad enough.

7.) gaaras dad wasnt impying that he didnt trust chiyo-ba sama, he was surprised that she would do what she did, in reviving gaara. he didnt think that she was that sort of person, and honestly, she wasnt. sakura and naruto and sasori changed her in the end. she represents the older ninja generation that believed ninjas are tools. there are many who still believe that, and naruto and gaara and others are slowly changing their minds. such as the raikage and tsuchikage. naruto is changing the ninja world, and gaara was one of the first to be changed by him. chiyo-ba was another. that is why gaaras dad was surprised by this information. he was also of the same mindset. look at how he treated his own son. he didnt even understand what his wife clearly did. untill now... i wouldnt be surprised if he is released from the edo in much the same manner as sai's brother and sasori were.

8.) on an entirely different note, where the hell are the chiyo ba and kimimaro edos?
last i remember they were raping the samurai. i wonder if they were stopped?
I also wonder if kakashi already defeated the swordsmen edos or if he was forced to withdraw for the night? I suppose we will find out in the near future.

6.)madaras new 6 pains have sharingan for one of 2 reasons, either he implanted them with some of the sharingans that he had been saving or they are all displaying sharingans for the same reason that they are displaying rinnengans, because he has it, and he is controlling them. like someone mentioned earlier, even nagatos summons had rinnengan eyes, just as all his pains did. even jiraiya was confounded by this because he didnt understand how more than one body could have the rinnengan. the fact is, they do NOT have the rinnengan, only the user does, (ie nagato or now madara). if madara had a bunch or rinnengans, why would he go desperately searching for nagatos body and risk his life fighting konan for them? that is the only set, and currently he is only usin one of the 2. he most likely is saving the other for either himself or someone else. i doubt he would give one to sasuke, though that would be interesting turn of events. sasuke wouldnt really know how to use it, as he has never had practice. but back to my original point, madara is controlling the edo jinchuuriki with his rinnengan, and most likely installed in each of them a sharingan from his stockpile. you might be asking yourself, why are they instantly ready to go, while sasuke has to have a bandage on his face for like 100 episodes? they are edo tensei and can instantly regenerate. whatever healing they would need after eye surgery would be almost instantaneous. the sharingan can control summons and tailed beasts as evidenced in the past, however the rinnengan is even more powerful and can control dead bodies, summons, and maybe more. you also may be asking yourself why he would bother to give each pain a sharingan? what do we know about the sharingan? it enchances almost every aspect of combat. evasiveness, sensory, power and a slew of other abilities. Each pain having a sharingan will just increase their effectiveness in battle. its something that nagato wouldnt have been able to do for many reasons, 2 being that he didnt have any sharingans available and not having one himself, he wouldnt know how to best make use of its power. madara on the other hand is prepared to cause cataclysmic damage to anyone he comes across. and for those of you that didnt notice, kishimoto wrote on the page with them displayed that madara was heading to HQ. which means that unless he is derailed from his path, he will be showing up on tsunade, raikage, and shikaku, and ino's daddy, and anyone else there such as raikage's secretary. I dont think that any of them stand a chance against madara and his 6 edo jinchuuriki paths of pain. damn kabuto for helping madara. as if it wasnt bad enough.

7.) gaaras dad wasnt impying that he didnt trust chiyo-ba sama, he was surprised that she would do what she did, in reviving gaara. he didnt think that she was that sort of person, and honestly, she wasnt. sakura and naruto and sasori changed her in the end. she represents the older ninja generation that believed ninjas are tools. there are many who still believe that, and naruto and gaara and others are slowly changing their minds. such as the raikage and tsuchikage. naruto is changing the ninja world, and gaara was one of the first to be changed by him. chiyo-ba was another. that is why gaaras dad was surprised by this information. he was also of the same mindset. look at how he treated his own son. he didnt even understand what his wife clearly did. untill now... i wouldnt be surprised if he is released from the edo in much the same manner as sai's brother and sasori were.

8.) on an entirely different note, where the hell are the chiyo ba and kimimaro edos?
last i remember they were raping the samurai. i wonder if they were stopped?
I also wonder if kakashi already defeated the swordsmen edos or if he was forced to withdraw for the night? I suppose we will find out in the near future.

.. you forgot to mention thatwhen Konan died and in there hide out everybodies name was shown- Jiraiya/s plank was in the back home direction as well..
