Re: saddest chapters in naruto/shippuden
Never have cried for Naruto chapters but the chapters where they tell Naruto about Jiraiya or when he did die were very sad. Also the Asuma death chapters were very sad.

Re: saddest chapters in naruto/shippuden
Never cried but the chapter where Itachi poked Sasuke on the forehead for the last time.
Only time I've ever cried about these kinds of things was when Mufasa(spelling) was killed in Lion King and Simba tried to wake him up, bambie, and the last scene in TS 3 when Andy left.

Jiraiya's death was the saddest part in Naruto. I never expected him to die

Re: saddest chapters in naruto/shippuden
I cried watching Kankuro having a Flashback of him talking to Gaara. Gaara wanting to be recognized like Naruto and not be a monster really made me cry.

Jiraiya's death upset me but it got me more pissed then mad, it made my little cousin get all worked up and he stopped following the series because he was a die hard Jiraiya fan.

I stop watching Naruto too until I heard about Sasuke and Itachi's fight. Then I got back into it

Was it because of Jiraiya dying?

Yep He seem like to much of a beast to die. I always imagined that In order it was Oro, Tsunade, then Jiraiya.

I really wanted to see Jiraiya fight in the war. He'd probably be a beast in a war setting, I can just see it. Technically Jiraiya's the only one of the Sannin who's actually dead (Orochimaru is just sealed away in genjutsu and lives on in the curse seals and in Kabuto) which really gets me angry.

Re: saddest chapters in naruto/shippuden
Yea Id say jiraiya dying was the saddest chapter, the anime makes it more dramatic.
at frist i was upset jiraiya died, but there's saying the brave die only once. Where corwards die a thousand deaths.
In alot ways jiraiya represented the sage of 6 paths wanting to bring peace to the world. He had two students one with powerful eyes and the other with a powerful body, just like sage himself and his sons.
Jiraiya even had those horns head peice like the horns the so6p had.
wouldnt surprise me if jiraiya makes spiritual return

Re: saddest chapters in naruto/shippuden
Itachi talking to Sasuke right before he dies, along with the flashbacks. Also, I thought that when Kushina and Minato died it was really sad. I'm sure it'll be much more dramatic when the episode comes out, but the manga does leave more to the imagination.

Oh hell yeah I forgot about that. I hate scenes like that where a mother holds her child with love and then dies. I hated when I heard that about Harry's mom protecting him from Voldamort, thanks for reminding me. Also just recently with Gaara's mother holding him before she died (he really was a tiny baby)

Re: saddest chapters in naruto/shippuden
Sad chapter was Konan vs. Madara fight; specifically the flash backs. The story of Yahiko, Konan and Nagato is sad specially the death of Konan.

Re: saddest chapters in naruto/shippuden
I'm gonna go old school. I'm going all the way back to pre-Shippuuden. When Haku talks his one dream in life to be Zabuza's tool/instrument, and nothing more, and Naruto breaks the ice mirror prison, prompting Haku to realise he's failed and asking Naruto to kill him. As well, as Naruto showing his power to awaken in people the ability of emotion by making Zabuza cry over Haku and asking while dying to lie next to Haku as snowflakes fell. Touching.
Another old-school one was when Lee fought Gaara, and Gai initially learning the he would never be ninja again.
In Shippuuden, Jiraiya's death hit me hard, as did Kushina's telling of Naruto's birth and the surrounding events, as well as Hinata's confession followed by her apparent death.
For some reason, Sasuke's tragedies haven't hit me as hard, not sure why. They seem more the ninja way than tragic. I'm not sure if anyone else feels the same way, or has an explanation.
Peace

Agree with these two.. The problem is that I sympathise with Itachi's dilema more than I think about Sasuke's tragedy. His clan was not entirely innocent and that creats a moral problem.

Yeah, I see what you're saying, nice insight. As well, Itachi expressed his love in a very subtle and counter intuitive way. Compared to the other characters, Itachi was a very stoic character in appearance even if not always in mind. However, Jiraiya, Kushina, and Hinata all were very open with their emotions in these scenes.
I suppose, that for Sasuke it having to be explained over chapters by the manipulative and deceitful Madara diluted Itachi's two finger forehead tap with a slight smile and the flashback blood tear from Itachi as he left Sasuke in Konoha also dampened the emotional valence.
Then there's the moral problem, which I already have mixed feelings on...
Peace

I cried when Asuma died. I felt what Shika was going through. LOL at people that started off with I didn't cry but...
If you didn't cry you didn't have to insert that lol. We get it your manly men who don't cry.
