      Barclays Premier League 2011-12

As the new Premier League season is about to start on the 13 August 2011. I thought it would be interesting to see who you (people of NB) think would win the Premier League this season.

I am a Liverpool fan but to be honest I can't see Liverpool winning the Premier League this season. I am just hoping that we can get into the top four.

Please say who you think will win. You don't have to have a reason for why you think they will win, but if you want to give a reason you can do.

I will be adding a poll so please vote when it is added and have fun.

Sorry if I have made this thread a bit early.

I made one thread like that - the day the fixtures was announced, so it isn't early xD

I'm a die-hard Manchester United fan. Obviously, I'll be rooting for them as always.

I'm seeing Man City as primary threat this year.
Liverpool have been in a good reconstruction phase. Will surely re-make it to Top 4.
Chelsea looks good with Villa Boas. Is definitely strong contender both title-wise and for Top 4.
Arsenal can do something - but I doubt it. Perhaps it's van Persie don't get injured, they can make the Top 4.

It would be good to see a different team winning the Premier League like Manchester City as it would be a change from the same old Manchester United winning. (No offense to Manchester United fans)

Man City are a good team but if they lose Carlos Tevez they will defiantly need to get someone in as good as him to challenge for the title but they do have the funds to get someone in.

To be honest I think Manchester United will win the Premier League this season. But I would like to see a different team win like Tottenham Hotspur or maybe Manchester City but I don't think either side have the quality that Manchester United has.

I do agree that Chelsea looks to be good contender as well like you have said.

Then you won't even remember the time when Liverpool won the Premier League.

I'm not trying to offense you or degrade your club, but the fact is that I rather support Manchester for its values and other things but also, atleast I get to watch them win sometimes the Premier League.
I'm 17 and I never saw Liverpool winning it. That's why Liverpool fans have always been a mystery for me. I just don't understand the point of view of some my friends who are Liverpool fans.

The last time Liverpool won the Premier League was the year I was born in 1990. I don't really remember why I chose to suppport Liverpool as I was 4 years old when I picked them but I didn't want to change the team I supported for. As I think that people should stick with with the team they chose and not change to a team that always wins.

By the way I don't think you changed to a team that wins but I know people that have.

I understand partly cause it's good that you remained loyal to your team. Indeed, some changes too often. I have a ManU fan since 3 years old (1996) btw.
But I gotta admit, I believe Liverpool is jinxed as long as I live.

Liverpool could well be jinxed but I believe that Liverpool will win the Premier League again. I don't know when but I just have to hope and believe that Liverpool will win it again.

Man City can reach the top 4 again but winning is a long shot right now they haven't signed many players yet but their last year squad will have matured and Augero would be key to their team but I also think Augero made the wrong decision to move their IMO also. I think they have a chance.

I'm a Barca fan, so I'm much more interested in La Liga. However, as far as the EPL goes, I'de like to see Liverpool do well, always used play with them in FIFA (Torres) and I like the squad they have now with Suarez. I love when they beat the traitor torres and Chelsea

Yes, they do as long as they have healthy players and fix up their defense. Suarez just came off an amazing Copa America being the key player to win the tournament so he will be on fire and don't forget about Carrol, Gerrad, Rodriguez, and others. Also they aren't in UCL or Europa so will have a longer rest time/preparation than other top clubs for the EPL title.

Man City will be LUCKY to finish in the top 4.

Their manager doesnt have the respect of some of the players.

90% of the players play as individuals not as a team apart from the obvious. I.e Silva,Yaya, Aguero..

      Tevez is leaving.

Chelsea' arsenal liverpool and man u are the top 4 contenders.

Havnt you seen how good suarez is?

Man united Have the best defense in the world. Bar none.

Chelsea are very consistant and grind out results very well.

Arsenal are just full of talent and if you remeber it was up untill march last year they were on course for ALL 4 titles.

Manchester city arent a team. They're a business. I feel sorry for the fans to be honest, they cant relate one bit to any of the players apart from Joe Hart and have no academy players in the first team which is really a shame.

You cant buy success you have to earn it.

Im not talking about material sucess i mean respect and honour. Something that liverpool manchester united and arsenal and to some degree chelsea have.

Everyone knows Sergio Aguero is much better than Tevez but its up to Roberto Mancini to help put him on form for this seasons premier league.... Here is the case that his talent was been wasted during their community shield match against manchester United.... If he is kept on bench continuously then he will become as hopless as Balotelli
