Postponed Football Matches News + Transfer News

Well, for those who didn't hear it.

Due to riots in England, the Premier League match between Tottenham and Everton has been postponed. The other matches have been confirmed for now, but this might change depending upon the severeness and intensity of the riots.

As for Spain, the 2 first matches of La Liga is supposedly going to get postponed. Due to wages and salaries of many players being unpaid, the players and other club-related staff or directors are going onto strike so as this issue gets solved and wages - as stated on contract - are paid. Though big names players like Casillas, Xavi ect... are not concerned by this waging situation, they are in solidarity with the others, so most likely they'll also be on strike - meaning that the strike will be for most matches. The Supercopa match between Madrid and Barca is still on though as for now.

On hottest transfer news, Snejder is getting really close to Manchester United (YAY! ) mostly because of Inter's financial condition issue and because City seems to go for Nasri instead. Moreover, Fabregas is very close to be signing with Barcelona also.

See the links for more details and Discuss!

It's about time Fabregas comes back home Snejder will be a huge help for Man U if they get him. I knew about riots in england but never heard of the players in Spain not being paid but glad we will see the El Clasico.

Well, still, as said by most football critics recently after Spain's defeat against Italy, Fabregas is THE replacement for Xavi - though he's still on the bench. I don't think this will change in Barcelona in big matches. He might play as starter in some matches but in big matches, Pep gonna make a choice where he will have to choose 2 from either Iniesta/Xavi/Fabregas and to my eyes, Xavi and Iniesta still remain the favorites. Anyways, whatever happens, it's certainly a good +point to have Fabregas on you team. About him and Cl, well, Arsenal intentionally added Fabregas on the play-off list, thus technically on paper, he is starting his CL campaign with Arsenal. The rule states that you cannot play in the CL with another club if the club, you started the CL campaign with is also on the CL.
Now, there are some ways to get out. If Barca buys Fab before Arsenal playoff match, I guess it doesn't count or they can overrule the decision by making appeal. But they need to buy him quick.

As for Sneijder, well, it isn't done yet, so I'm still crossing my fingers but with him coming, ManU will change his style of play or will get another. Normally, he's coming to replace Scholesy in Mdf position but for me, in big matches, he's gonna change position. That's what will happen for me. From the 4-4-2, they'll get into a 4-5-1, with 3 offensive midfielder to deliver balls and possession and 2 wingers and one lone striker. Given Rooney's incredible skills, he'll get down to midfield a little along with Sneijder and Giggs/Carrick/Anderson/Cleverley while Chicharito (lone striker) will exploit his speed and ability to play offside rule at its maximum with 3 great passers and 2 wingers (2 from Park/Nani/Valencia/Young) at his disposal to help him.
It's definitely a dream midfield to get a Rooney-Sneijder-Giggs Combo, in fact, it's the only one that on paper seems to rivalise with Barca's strong midfield. Indeed, Sneijder will bring new styles and help in Manchester.

If I can remember correctly in the Spain WC final VS Holland they had Xavi, Fab (was replacement for Xabi Alonso) and Inesita out. I think Fab can play along this line replacing Sergio B. I know their defense will be out of line a little bit but if they keep Abidal back instead of joining in on attacks they can succeed.

    4-3-3

3 - Alves (RB) (He's also defensive but he is a strong help up front so will keep him in the same spot jumping between defensively and attack.) Puyol, Pique, Abidal (LB) (He usually join in on attack thru left flank but will make him stay back like he played VS Real Madrid in the semi final leg of CL)

    3 - Xavi, Fab, Inesta

    3 - Messi, Villa, Sanchez

This will of course be a more of an offensive line.

I can also see them playing the line 4-5-1 you spoke of having Mess, Xavi, Fab, Iniesta, Sanchez and Villa being the lone striker or they can switch between Pedro/Messi also.

But no doubt Sneijder will be a big threat and great help with Man U and they will be a promising team this year. Barcelona players are having injury problems they may even over throw them. Sergio B (picked up injury VS Italy), Pique (picked up injury VS Italy) and Puyol (Most likely out) won't be playing the El Clasio and also Xavi picked up a knock reason why he wasn't playing for Spain on Wednesday.

Wenger latest article titles, "Get them out of here NOW! Wenger orders urgent exit of Nasri and Fabregas." He isn't too happy but in return they may sign Juan Mata who I have notice has been playing well for Spain and Valenica, also they may sign Jadson, Shakhtar Donetsk midfielder. I noticed Jadson in the CL match VS Barcelona oh man does this guy have pace and style.

Euh, I know Fab entered as replacement for Xavi Alonso and that too, in the extra-time but how can Iniesta be out? He score the winning goal.

Still, while the 4-5-1 you're talking about seems plausible, I don't find that 4-3-3 that good. Agree that in some mere matches, they can go all-on offense for fun but in big matches where obviously the opposing team will play counter, 3 defenders might be suicidal. Also, the fact that your 4-3-3 with Busquetz worked so well was because, despite Alves and Abidal getting offensive at times, Busquets covered them and Messi went a bit more midfield. Thus (they alternated into a 3-5-2. With Fabregas, I don't think it will have been that good. In fact, they could have done this strategy long before, with Messi coming back as offensive midfielder or winger and Affelay instead of Busquets. But I think Pep knows that it might be suicidal to remove a defensive core like Busquets for another offense player in a big match.

Well, Manchester has a balanced calender - Big Premier League Matches 1st Round (1st 10 Weeks), CL group stages (After 10 Weeks till December), Boxing Day, Big Premier League Matches 2nd Round (January-Mid March), Eliminatory CL matches (March-ill afterwards).
Manchester plays all their big matches early on in the season. If they win both rounds, I think they'll clinch the Premier League title easily. Unfortunately, Manchester also got some handy of injuries right now - Chicharito (1 month), Valencia, Fletcher notably.

Well, Arsenal last chance to get Premier League with their young players constructive project was missed in the last 15 weeks of the season. I remember once stating in 2007 that - Arsenal is a team that will dominate in 2010-2012 and will be reckoned as a deadly force. At this time, Arsenal had only young players and even Fabregas was quite unknown. Well, I think that if Arsenal had to be champions, they should have been already. Now, the bus is missed. So, obviously Wenger is frustrated. His project and idea deserve applaud but ideas goes into history only if they are successful - success being the only thing they didn't had.
Vidic also stated like me that the title will be played most likely between United, City and Chelsea. While some die-hard Liverpool fans still believe in my school, they don't stand much of a chance.
I don't Jadson but I've do seen of Juan Mata. Pretty good player indeed. Another Spanish lad who impressed me is Llorente.
On the transfer notes, I think that once Sneijder, Fabregas and Nasri goes out, the transfer will be mostly about young talents, especially Brazilians ones and Spanish ones.

Thanks for the thread man...... Didnt knew about the matches to be postponed... and about Sneijder coming to ManU... it will make a little positive impact on the club....

Coz its mainly because of his play of style.... I mean he was at Real M and then got transferred to Inter, but his style of play suited Inter and not ManU..... ManU's play is to expose the Wings while he is stubborn sticked to midfield only...

    Hope to see him though....

LOL sorry it was suppose to be Xabi Alnso. I meant Xavi, Fab and Inesita played together it was in the 87th min. Fab was the one with the assist to that goal by Inesita

The line up your right but Fab is also a defensive midfielder like Busquets, we just don't see him played in that spot as much. An all out attack would be good if they make Xavi, Fab, Inesita, Messi, Villa, Sanchez offense than Alves, Puyol, Pique, Abidal can stay back and they (Alves, Abidal) don't have to join in on attack from the flanks like they usually do that saying they would have 4 defense in the back.

Yeah that's good for Man U get over all the big matches asap. Still don't count out Liverpool especially seeing Suarez form as of late he will be a difference maker this season. Also Maxi as been playing out standing Alberto A. is back he scored the winning goal VS Spain so they have a team will see how they begin the season.

Wenger is great there is a reason why he's still at the club despite not having won anything for 6-7 yrs now. As it goes for the winner tons of competition in EPL. Mata is great, Jadson will live up to his name also. Yes, Llorente is amazing in the future big clubs will come for him already Real tried but I can see him replacing Villa if anything in Barca, of course that is if he desire to remain in Spain unless he wants to go to Serie A or EPL.

Yes, ATM many talents are coming from Spain/Brazil area, I wonder were Ganso may go? Naymar? and so forth.
