Lightning = Raiton.

Lightning is a very destructive power but also the basic form of electricity. Electricity is used for a lot of different things in RL. In the Narutoverse lightning is weak to wind and strong against lightning. I always interpreted, that this is because wind could blow away clouds and lightning usually accrues in clouds. I've never really been able to give a plausible explanation why lightning is strong against earth though. Lightning can be used to paralyze your opponent or to "cut/burns" through his body.
Lightning can be used on water sources because water conducts electricity very well, therefore raiton and suiton work great in combinations. Right now I couldn't think of anything important else.

*I sit down and focus on my chakra control, I channel my chakra in my palms and think about lightning, I meditate about the nature of lightning and what it really is. After several minutes I got a good feeling about it and force my chakra to create several lightning sparks around my palms*

*I concentrate again. I imagine the lightning sparks to form around my body. I also think about how I forced my chakra to manipulate water for the first time. I reflect about the feeling it gave me and how I tried to be one with the natural flow of water. After several minutes of reflecting I think about how this can help me to create lightning bolds. As I come to the conclusion, that lightning and water don't have much in common, I reject the plan to simply copy what I did back then. I focus on my chakra manipulation and remember how impressed I was by thunderstorms, back when I was a child. I remember how they fascinated and frightened me at the same time, how their speed and their beautiful colors impressed me and I remember how destructive they can be. I remember how a tree was struck by lightning not far from me. The cracking sound the tree made, so loud that I couldn't hear anything else. The tree bursting asunder. Remembering all this I release chakra in form of small lightning bolts out of my palms and they remain stable as long as I let my chakra flow.*
