[Theory]Eye of the moon
Peaceful posted a theory he found that pretty much connected Sasuke and uchiha to egyptian mythology:
Heres the link
This pretty much explains eye of the moon plan that was a plan of madara, read it, its pretty good!
Please note that this theory was originally posted on the Naruto Fan Fourm Library by myself. Almost Princess is a Naruto Fan user with some very unique and interesting theory ideas with regard to the Naruto Manga.
I believe I now know what Madara's true plan is. As was mentioned in the 453 prediction thread, the Eye of the Moon refers to The Eye of Horus aka The All Seeing Eye or the Eye of Providence. This lead me to see if I could draw a more meaningful connection to The Eye of Horus and Madara's Eye of the Moon plan.
The following is the first thing I noticed of relevance:
The right eye of Horus represented the Sun and the Sun Deity Ra, and the left represented the Moon and the god Thoth. The one mentioned by Almost Princess in her thread. So, the Eye of the Moon is Horus's left eye and is tied to the Egyptian god Thoth.
Horus was an ancient Egyptian sky god known as Ra and was pictured in the form of a falcon. The right eye represents a Peregrine Falcon's eye and the markings around it, that includes the "teardrop" marking sometimes found below the eye. As the wedjet (also udjat or utchat), it also represented the sun, and was associated with Horus' mother, Isis, and with wedjet another goddess, as well as the sun deity Ra. The mirror image, or left eye, sometimes represented the moon and the god Djehuti (Thoth).

As many of you already know, birds of prey are symbolic representations of the Uchiha clan. This is one of the reasons that Sasuke changed his team's name from Hebi to Taka or from snake to hawk/falcon. This event was even foreshadowed by Madara himself when he asked if Sasuke would remain a snake(under Orochimaru's influence) or become a hawk(a true Uchiha) atop his own statue at the Valley of the End.
The teardrop is most likely represented by Itachi, who cried tears of blood as he fought Sasuke. Itachi also shed tears when he left Sasuke that faithful night, the night of the Uchiha Massacre.
Also, the eyes mentioned above correspond to how the Amaterasu and Tsukuyomi eye techniques were present in Itachi and probably all other Uchiha who reached that level of power. Amaterasu is the Sun goddess and the technique is traditionally produced from the right eye. Tsukuyomi is the Moon god and the technique is traditionally produced from the left eye. The techniques were swapped within Sasuke's eyes because of the Tensha Fuuin technique Itachi used to attempt to kill Madara Uchiha. Therefore Sasuke's eyes become the symbolic representation of Izanagi's. In the Japanese legend, it was Tyukuyomi that was born of the right eye and Amaterasu the left.
He and his spouse Izanami bore many islands, deities and forefathers of Japan. When Izanami died in childbirth, Izanagi tried (but failed) to retrieve her from Yomi (the underworld). In the cleansing rite after his return, he begot Amaterasu (the sun goddess) from his left eye, Tsukuyomi (the moon god) from his right eye and Susanoo (tempest or storm god) from his nose.
So, the "Wedjat", another name for the Eye of Horus is a sacred symbol that is used to gives mummies the ability "to see again". Who in the Naruto series most resembles a mummy? Why it's Madara Uchiha, the man who has returned from the dead, and he just so happens to be missing his left eye. It should be obvious at this point that at least part of Madara's Eye of the Moon plan deals with the restoration of this left eye.
Eye of Horus, a hieroglyph and symbol
Seven different hieroglyphs are used to represent the "eye"-(human body parts). One is the common usage of the verb: to do, make, or perform. The other frequently used hieroglyph is the Wedjat, a sacred eye symbol that gives a mummy the ability "to see again", called the Eye of Horus after his cult rose to prominence as the son of Hathor.
The seven different hieroglyphs, might represent the seven Bijuu sealed into Gedou Mazou. While only speculation, if it turns out to be the case, neither Naruto or Killer Bee will be sealed into Gedou Mazou by the Akatsuki.
Just in case you're still a little apprehensive about this, check this out:
The eye of Horus that represents the Moon was blinded in a fight with Set. Could it be that Madara Uchiha himself lost his left eye in battle with Hashirama Senju at the Valley of the End? Also, the Uchiha crest is both a fan and the Cresent Moon, also mentioned by Almost Princess in her theory.
He was originally the deification of the moon in the Ogdoad belief system. Initially, in that system, the moon had been seen to be the eye of Horus, the sky god, which had been semi-blinded (thus darker) in a fight against Set, the other eye being the sun. However, over time it began to be considered separately, becoming a lunar deity in its own right, and was said to have been another son of Ra. As the crescent moon strongly resembles the curved beak of the ibis, this separate deity was named Djehuty (i.e. Thoth), meaning ibis.
Well there you have it, Madara's plan is more or less to restore his former power. There's probably more to it, but currently this is the only conclusion we can draw until more is revealed about his plan.
On a side note, this pretty much confirms for me that Kishimoto created Naruto as a study on comparative mythology. If you look deep enough you can see several different mythologies from all over the world represented in Naruto.
