Re: Ronaldinha - The Legend
The best dribble the game has seen, yes. The best player, could have been, but he threw his career away.
My friend once told me there are two different footballers, one that has pure talent and the other that works hard in training to get that talent. Dinho was one with pure talent and barely had to work for it. Dinho still had the ideas, but at the end his body wouldn't respond to him. Remember this, the body could become your worst enemy, Dinho can be held as an example, no matter how hard he tried he couldn't get back in shape.
Age/Success had also caught up to him after 05/06 winning league and CL and already having won the WC, Dinho had it all, with the whole media also saying Brazil will rip a part teams in WC 06. Dinho also still had his laid back life style being out till 4AM and partying, waking up in a random girls room.
After the failure in WC 06, Dinho wasn't performing well for Barcelona he had a decent 06-07 season, but 07-08 he fell short and couldn't make things happen, both years Barcelona won nothing. Dinho himself wanted to leave for Milan as he though he could revive his career there and unite with Kaka there. City offered more money, but he still opted for Milan. He also a long with Messi wanted to play in the Olympics, Pep didn't want them to, as it was his first year Dinho needed to get back in shape, but Dinho left and Messi challenged the board, were as eventually Messi went on to win the gold.
Dinho indulged himself in the success/fame, he was a player who could have been up there with Pele, Dona, Platini, etc. He will forever be remember as the greatest dribbler and world class player, as far as being the best? That title has gone down the drain with him, but same may still believe it.
He had lost motivation, confidence, and most importantly the love for football.
