Re: Bust(er) a ZX
*Keotsu lets out a half-hearted laugh with a somber smile when Hawke comments about the style, as he accepts the boots and gloves, and then proceeds to ask where the apparel came from.*

*As if to accentuate this, Keotsu momentarily tugs on his shirt.*
"...and if you absolutely need armor...She's once made a shirt out of a spider-silk like material for me, and it worked better than any jacket of chain-mail I've ever seen. Unfortunately, that beautiful shirt was destroyed when...Never mind, I've said to much.
"Anyway, I will tell you this up front: as you become more and more proficient with the style - to the point of mastery - you will find yourself relying on the gloves less and less. However, the boots, you will find yourself always in need of, and there are two simple reasons for this: first, we manipulate chakra more with our hands - handseals - than we do with our feet; and second, there is simply a lower concentration of chakra points in your feet than in your hands.
"The ZX Buster style works much like a river. When a certain amount of water starts to flow in a certain direction, it will start dragging more water with it.
"Since most of us have massive chakra reserves, it tends to leak out, just as how water evaporates. But, by directing your chakra flow - the flow of the river - in one direction, you can pull that "leaking" chakra along, increasing the amount of chakra, and thus force, behind your blows.
"And by gathering a "wave" of chakra, of water, when you release it, the amount that it too drags increases. I'll give a basic demonstration."
*Keotsu then fastens a rather basic leather gantlet to his right hand - its more for the protection of his hand, then to assist him with the style.*
"This is without me using Zero Knuckle...ah, sorry, that's another term for the style, just as is X Fist."
*Keotsu then quickly punches a large boulder with his full might. And impressive "thump" is heard as his fist collides with the stone, and the rock stands resolute against the force. It was evident that a person would have several badly broken ribs from a blow like that.*
"And this, is with the style."
*Pulling his fist back, Keotsu's eyes close slightly, as his concentration sharpens. With a quick, and powerful, thrust of his hand, he once again slams his fist into the boulder, this time the sound being noticeably louder, like the bang of a hammer, and with a circular "pulse" of chakra coming off of his fist, visualizing the discharge.
Flailing his hand to move away the smarting, even through the protective gauntlet, it was still incredibly painful punching stone with everything you had.*
"This was a basic demonstration - the first punch was what a 1:0 ratio of force to chakra was - your standard Taijutsu. The second was your 1:1, or the simplest level of ZX Buster.
As the ratio increases, you end up - basically - hitting more times in a single instance than before. The basic is two blows, a 1:2 ratio is three blows, ad infinitum.
...I'm not quite sure what the limits of this are, even though I created the style. I have no idea what we can get away with, but, I suppose that'll all be straighten out in time.
For now, how about a quick spar? I'll play solely defensive - just try to get the hand of the style, and focus on what I told you about how to use it in the first place, along with what you already know.
I suppose with someone like you, you should be able to get it down in five minutes."
*Keotsu then takes a very basic stance, with his legs shoulder-length apart, and with his left hand leading, both palms open, facing his opponent.*
"Whenever you are ready."
(OOC: We'll spar for five posts. And, like I said, I have no idea what we can get away with in freeform (1:X). I'm going to assume that 1:5 is the max of unaided, but I'm not sure, and really, it is strictly up to the practitioner. You could make a flick of your finger shatter stone. I'll need to talk to Scorps about it, though. Walking around, blowing holes in people with flick of your wrist seems a little unbalanced, even if it is strictly within the limits and confines of the style itself.)
