[Inter Village Tournament] - The Forest
The Sage watched the crowd struggle to survive - many had attempted to simply fly up or keep themselves airborne as the altars opened beneath them but it was all for naught; the spikes and lightning were all just a ruse, a cleverly timed illusion by him as he inspected the ninja. They seemed to be lost, unable to do much; as he continued to watch them, floating higher in the air to watch the ones who had started to make the small descent, mere feet above a small pool of water. By now, the quickest of the group began to decipher it, stabbing themselves to break the genjutsu, becoming aware of the short drop before saving themselves. Occasionally, he'd notice someone trying to save their selves while taking someone else out - attacking someone in a wild attempt to kill someone and help their teammates or even to spare their own skin. Each time this happened, the Sage merely waved his shakujo, causing the attacks to vanish within air. Such petty ninja, he thought, already trying to fight between each other.
They began to fall one by one; first the ninja using locusts to stay afloat. Then the second tried to simply fly away with bugs attacking. The Sage laughed to himself as many began to rise, breaking the Genjutsu and others still failed to; another created a clone to throw him to the edge of the pit as he made an earth ledge. Another created a series of petals to levitate him high up, still failing to break the Genjutsu at all. Waving teh Shakujo, the Sage spiked the genjutsu in those who didn't break it yet, causing the darkness begins to swallow them, crushing them in spiraling darkness from all around, shattering their minds as they fall deep into the pit.
As the rest fly above the altars, the Sage wills the altars close again as he talks to them.
"Very well...you have fnished the first trial... and now, the real games begin!"
Roaring the last word, the Sage waves the Shakujo once more. The altars and the plaza vanished replaced by a magnificent and wide shore with the ocean and sunset at it's back. In front of the shore, stood a tremendous wooden concentric wall, embellished and designed with intricately carved flora and fauna motifs and imagery, the scenes of nature herself and the altars dancing across the wall as if alive; the snake slithering around with bared fangs, seemingly hissing at the competitors. The massive bear on it's hind legs, roaring as it tried to swat the great winged condor flying high above them. Seemingly laughing, the red haired fox laughed from the shadows as the lone wolf stood from the other end of the shadows, it's eyes glowing as the ominous shadows seemingly darkened near him.
The mural itself contained 8 different doors decorated along the wall, each with a number from one to eight on it, merged into the surroundings of the wall, hidden but still clearly visible. The Sage speaks to each of them directly, sending the same message to them mentally as he descends to the ground, actually touching the earth this time.
"What choice do you make? Each door holds a different secret, each with it's own mysteries. Do you choice the one in front of you," he asked, motioning to the door marked with one on it. "Or do you make another choice? There are 7 more doors around the wall. Designed similarly to a village, there are 3 inner rings with various...tasks you must compete to make it to the next ring. Fail the task and you will find yourself eliminated. Before I give the task...choose a door."
The Sage explained to them all, motioning at the wall that stood in front of them. He thought to himself that "wall" didn't fully explain it, it was much more than that but "maze" was too complex and misleading. Smirking, wall would do as it did keep some deplorables out, but that was for another time and place. For now...he'd watch the fun he thought, floating high above the field to be able to watch all of the landmarks at one time.
Gecko, Black Butler, Juha and Priest all failed to break the genjutsu, intentionally or unintentionally. This renders them unable to continue onward. Everyone else can only post one time until told otherwise.
